The AIML - ML Research Engineer or Scientist position at Apple involves working within a collaborative team focused on advancing machine learning robotics research. Responsibilities

• Conduct collaborative research on various robotics platforms.
• Develop new machine learned control policies, including Video Language Action models, Imitation Learning, and Reinforcement Learning.
• Perform intelligent data collection and evaluations for model training.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or a relevant degree.
• Experience programming innovative ML robot control policies.
• Experience with generative AI models such as Transformers, LLMs, VLMs, VLAs, and diffusion models.
• Experience with robotics data collection for training models.
• Understanding of modeling and analysis in robotics, including kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, perception, task planning, and control theory.
• Experience working with robot manipulation.

Nice-to-haves

• Consistent track record of researching, inventing, and/or shipping advanced machine learning models.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
