About the position

The Measurement team at Apple is seeking an experienced engineer, applied ML practitioner, or data scientist to lead several high-impact initiatives focused on enhancing Apple products and services through advanced measurement methodologies. This role involves collaboration with various engineering groups to develop tools and processes that improve product understanding while prioritizing user privacy. The successful candidate will engage in research and prototype applications to assess their viability for larger investments, utilizing large language models (LLMs) to optimize resource allocation and evaluate generative AI models.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering groups to build tooling, processes, and methodologies for product improvement.
• Engage in research on data collection systems for training and evaluating generative AI systems while ensuring privacy.
• Collaborate with the head of the Measurement org to drive research projects and prototype applications.
• Utilize LLMs to optimize resource allocation and measure the quality of generative AI models.

Requirements

• Experience leading strategic technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently.
• Experience with foundation models, including training and evaluation.
• Programming experience.
