About the position

The AIML Resident position at Apple is a year-long residency program designed for experts in various fields to apply their domain expertise in machine learning and AI. Residents will engage in innovative research, collaborate with peers, and gain hands-on experience in high-impact projects while learning from experienced mentors. The focus areas include efficient machine learning and controllable generation, with opportunities to publish research in premier academic conferences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in efficient machine learning and controllable generation.
• Collaborate with fellow residents and Apple teams across hardware, software, and services.
• Attend machine learning and AI courses to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Work on high-impact projects that contribute to Apple's machine learning initiatives.
• Publish research findings in premier academic conferences.

Requirements

• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Objective-C, C++, Swift, or R.
• Experience completing a moderate-sized software project.
• Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with others.
• Graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent industry experience in software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Academic, research, or industry experience in Large Language Models / Generative AI, Machine Learning & ML Research, Natural Language Processing/Speech/Conversational AI, Robotics, or Computer Vision.
• Experience with thesis, capstone projects, internships, or co-ops in relevant fields.
