About the position

Apple's AIML residency is a year-long program designed for experts in various fields to apply their domain expertise in innovating and building machine learning and AI-based products and experiences. Residents will engage in hands-on projects, attend courses, and collaborate with mentors and peers, focusing on research in efficient machine learning and controllable generation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in high-impact machine learning and AI projects.
• Collaborate with Apple teams across hardware, software, and services.
• Attend ML and AI courses to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Publish research findings in premier academic conferences.
• Work on research at the intersection of multi-modal agents and data-centric learning methods.

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Objective-C, C++, Swift, and/or R.
• Experience completing a moderate-sized software project.
• Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with others.
• Graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent industry experience in software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Academic, research, or industry experience in Large Language Models / Generative AI, Machine Learning & ML Research, Natural Language Processing/Speech/Conversational AI, Robotics, or Computer Vision.
• Experience with thesis, capstone projects, internships, or co-ops in relevant fields.
