About the position

The position involves working with the MLPT & Infra teams at Apple to enhance Siri and other Apple products through advanced machine learning, natural language processing, and algorithmic search technologies. The role focuses on designing and building services and infrastructure that support features for billions of users, improving search relevance, ranking, and query understanding. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-performance computing environment, handling large volumes of data and queries while contributing to both legacy and new systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build services and infrastructure to support features for Apple users.
• Apply machine learning techniques to improve search relevance and ranking.
• Implement reliable production services and APIs capable of handling millions of queries per second.
• Contribute high-quality code to both legacy and new systems.
• Coordinate work across multiple teams, requiring excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong coding skills and a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for independent and team-based work.
• Solid understanding of the software development process, including unit testing and release management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Large Scale Distributed Systems.
• Experience in Machine Learning and/or Natural Language Processing.
• MS or Ph.D. in a related field, or equivalent experience.
