We're looking for a strong Engineering Program Manager with a proven track record of driving highly cross-functional projects dependent on innovative machine learning technologies. You will work with cross-functional software engineering teams to develop data collection and product evaluation strategies. You will work with data science, data engineering, annotation operations, and privacy to create a plan and execute on these requirements in a highly deadline driven environment. These efforts are critical in driving quality improvement for products to over 1 billion customers, your role is essential to creating the highest quality user experience that Apple customers expect and love.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage project schedules with clear dependencies, critical path and systematic methodology to communicate status.
  • Manage risks and mitigations, and re-plan as events warrant.
  • Drive alignment across the organization and between teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to define human annotation requirements vital to launch and maintain premier Apple software products.
  • Work with data science, data engineering and research teams to develop data collection and evaluation solutions.
  • Work with annotation operation teams to optimize and manage human data collection and evaluations efforts.
  • Work with engineering, privacy, and legal teams to develop safe data collection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale, machine learning-powered product programs and delivering client/server software across large organizations (100+ people).
  • Proven program management, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills with experience driving data-driven decision-making and process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with expertise in negotiation, presentation, and influencing across teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, other Quantitative Sciences, or related field and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing a program management team in AI powered product space, preferably experience in evaluation of MLAI products.
  • Self-sufficient in analyzing and drawing conclusions about the quality and product opportunity from raw and refined product data
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to details.
