At Apple, we are looking for an outstanding Engineering Program Manager to join our AIML organization. This role is pivotal in driving quality improvement for products that impact over 1 billion customers, ensuring that we craft the highest quality user experience that Apple customers expect and love. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of managing highly cross-functional projects that depend on innovative machine learning technologies. You will be responsible for building and running project timelines with clear dependencies and critical paths, employing a systematic methodology to communicate project status effectively. Handling risks and mitigations will be a key part of your role, as will re-planning as events warrant. In this position, you will drive alignment across the organization and between teams, partnering with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements around a privacy-focused approach to data collection and evaluation, which is vital for launching and maintaining premier Apple software products. You will collaborate with instrumentation, data science, and data engineering teams to develop data collection and evaluation solutions, optimizing and leading measurement and evaluation efforts. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering, privacy, and legal teams to ensure safe data collection practices, and with research teams to develop long-term evaluation solutions. To succeed in this role, you should have at least 8 years of experience in driving large-scale programs that build machine learning-powered products. Excellent program management skills are essential, including the ability to structure programs and manage multiple interdependent work streams. You should have orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products requiring large organizations (100+). Strong analytical skills and a curiosity to discover opportunities for impact and better user experience are crucial. You must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence capabilities. A BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required.
