About the position

The Engineering Program Manager role at Apple involves leading project management efforts for the design and implementation of quality and release practices focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML). The position requires a strong track record in building and maintaining sophisticated software platforms, tools, and processes that enhance customer experiences. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional projects, manage timelines, and ensure effective communication among teams to drive project success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, timely, and objective communication, including regular program status updates and critical issues to the executive team.
  • Coordinate discussions and break down complex issues into discussion topics to drive engineering and design alignment.
  • Create and manage project timelines with clear dependencies and critical paths, communicating status systematically.
  • Manage risks and mitigations, and re-plan as necessary based on events.
  • Drive on-time delivery and deployment, identifying development and feasibility needs, and establishing achievements for checkpoints and status updates.
  • Proactively identify issues and solutions, coordinating with teams to prioritize tasks and track risks to schedule and product quality.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in project or program management.
  • Excellent project management skills including project structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently.
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives.
  • Ability to independently draft and present deliverables, recommendations, and communication strategies.

  • Superior group facilitation and influence skills.
  • Detailed understanding of testing, build, and release processes for sophisticated software.
  • Strong analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, including mentoring, team-building, and conflict resolution.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.
