About the position

The Air Cargo Ramp Agent plays a crucial role in the timely and safe handling of cargo at the airport. This position involves loading and unloading cargo from aircraft, transporting cargo between terminals, and ensuring compliance with security procedures. The Ramp Agent must perform these tasks in various weather and environmental conditions while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft.
• Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
• Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested areas.
• Engage in push-out of aircraft using an 80,000 lb. vehicle or assist the driver.
• Read 'off-load' sheets to determine destination of cargo.
• Lift, connect, and remove overhead 40 lb. KVA electric cable to/from aircraft.
• De-ice aircraft at heights of up to 20 - 80 ft.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to successfully communicate with others
