About the position

The Air Quality and Climate Change Senior Project Manager at Geosyntec is responsible for leading projects that address air quality and climate change issues. This role involves collaboration with various teams within the firm, including Air Practice, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, to provide strategic advice and technical support to clients. The position requires a strong background in regulatory analysis, emissions quantification, and project management, with a focus on achieving carbon reduction goals and compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regulatory analysis related to air quality, greenhouse gas, and other environmental matters.
  • Quantify emission rates and prepare inventories for data management programs.
  • Manage air quality and environmental impact analysis, dispersion modeling, and health risk assessment.
  • Oversee permitting processes at all levels, including NSR, PSD, Title V, and GHG permits.
  • Conduct air pollution control device selection and evaluations, and source and ambient emission monitoring.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including industrial clients, regulatory agencies, and research organizations.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on carbon reduction programs and projects.
  • Lead air quality projects related to emissions quantification and regulatory compliance.
  • Research environmental solutions and incentives related to energy systems and sustainability.
  • Develop work scopes and prepare competitive proposals for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar discipline (required).
  • Professional registration (P.E. in CA) (required).
  • At least 8 years of air quality program and project management experience (required).
  • Thorough knowledge of air regulations (required).
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams (required).
  • Demonstrated success in client development and management (required).
  • Proven leadership skills (required).
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in engineering (preferred).
  • Demonstrated local/regional visibility through involvement in professional associations (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in air quality program management (preferred).
