About the position

The Air Quality Planner I position at the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) focuses on supporting the transition to cleaner transportation fuels, particularly zero-emission vehicles. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to implement alternative fuel infrastructure projects and promote the adoption of cleaner transportation solutions. The successful candidate will engage in project planning, stakeholder communication, and grant program development to enhance regional air quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of developments in the alternative fuel vehicle industry, including electric vehicles and recharging infrastructure.
  • Assist with the implementation of alternative fuel infrastructure projects awarded through various programs.
  • Coordinate regional alternative fuel infrastructure efforts, including electric vehicle charging.
  • Identify and communicate region-specific best practices to support alternative fuel adoption.
  • Plan and attend meetings and outreach events for stakeholders, including educational webinars and peer exchanges.
  • Develop and maintain grant programs to support local stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project and program goals, performance measures, and milestones.
  • Draft responses to stakeholder inquiries for supervisor review.
  • Monitor impacts of State and federal policies on alternative fuel vehicles.
  • Draft correspondences, grant applications, technical reports, newsletters, and social media content for supervisor review.
  • Update and restructure key websites related to alternative fuel initiatives.
  • Draft presentations for supervisor review and deliver presentations to staff and committee members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical or quantitative methods.
  • One year or less of work-related experience.
  • Good communication, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good customer service, data collection, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Good critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks.
