About the position
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist - Level 1 position involves developing test procedures and plans, as well as reviewing requirements for operational testing and evaluation of terminal automation systems. This role supports FAA and DoD projects for ARTCC, TRACON, and ATCT, and requires collaboration in identifying and resolving implementation issues related to these projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop test procedures and plans for operational testing and evaluation of terminal automation systems.
- Review requirements for operational test and evaluation (OT&E) of FAA and DoD projects.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, coordinating, resolving, and reporting implementation issues generated by projects.
Requirements
- 20+ years as a former Full Performance Level Certified Professional Air Traffic Controller.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel.
- Experience testing NAS automation systems.
- Familiarity with FAA rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Airport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Understanding of ATC separation and safety principles.
- Experience reviewing requirements for new functionality and air traffic concepts such as ARV, CRDA, ATPA, ReCat, ADS-B/Fusion display mode, and Inter/Intra-Facility.
