About the position

The Air Traffic Control Instructor position at SAIC involves providing high-quality training to air traffic controller students at the Lincoln ATCT/TRACON facility. This part-time role requires strong technical skills in ATC automation and simulation systems, as well as the ability to mentor students and participate in curriculum development. The instructor will deliver both classroom and simulation laboratory training, ensuring that trainees are well-prepared for their roles in maintaining air traffic safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality classroom and simulation laboratory training to air traffic controller students.
• Mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO).
• Participate in curriculum design and development for training programs.
• Obtain radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA facilities.
• Interface effectively with FAA personnel to ensure training services meet local facility needs.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum of five (5) years of FAA Certified Professional Controller (CPC) experience controlling live traffic.
• Recent experience as a contract Instructor at an FAA facility is acceptable.
• Experience must be at the same type and level of ATC facility as the Lincoln ATCT/TRACON.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) at the Lincoln ATCT/TRACON is preferred.
• Operational experience with ATC simulators including scenario design for simulation platforms (e.g. TSS, AT Coach, SGET).
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels.
• Experience demonstrating excellent teaching and classroom management techniques.
