About the position

The Airborne Lidar Acquisition Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing airborne lidar acquisition operations, ensuring effective coordination of field operations, managing sensor operators, and maintaining data quality. This role requires a strong understanding of fixed-wing airborne sensor operations and logistics, along with experience in managing multiple project acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and troubleshoot sensor operations
• Coordinate field operations and aircraft schedules
• Create flight plans and manage data quality checks
• Communicate progress to management
• Manage sensor operators and equipment

Requirements

• 5+ years in GIS/Remote Sensing
• 2+ years in airborne lidar acquisition
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Working with lidar sensors (RIEGL, Leica, Teledyne Optech)
• Coordinating multiple projects and sensor rotations
• Experience with topographic/bathymetric lidar and other airborne sensors
• Certified Hydrographer or ASPRS certifications
