About the position

AAR is seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Alternate Lead with a focus on ensuring high-quality maintenance standards and adherence to FAA regulations. The role involves supervising maintenance tasks, maintaining aircraft records, and ensuring safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in aviation maintenance and leadership skills, contributing to the overall mission of providing value-driven aerospace solutions.

Responsibilities

• Establish work priorities to assist the Lead
• Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards
• Use FAA approved data proficiently
• Perform heavy maintenance tasks without supervision
• Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with Airworthiness Standards
• Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements
• Monitor and accurately complete all aircraft paperwork
• Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings
• Use a PC, iPad and basic computer applications and programs
• Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self-motivation
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Over 2+ years aviation maintenance experience
• FAA Airframe certification
• Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR
• Proven leadership abilities
• Takes initiative and plans work without detailed instructions
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills
• Time management skills
• Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing)

Nice-to-haves

• Powerplant license (A&P)
