About the position

The Aircraft Avionics Tech II position at AAR Corp. is an entry-level role designed for new graduates from avionics or A&P technology schools, as well as mechanics with less than five years of aircraft experience. The role offers a structured training program to help employees acquire their FAA airframe license, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision
  • Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with the Airworthiness Standards
  • Use FAA approved/accepted data proficiently
  • Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements
  • Perform avionics repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings
  • Use a PC, iPad and basic computer applications and programs
  • Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self-motivation
  • Complete additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

  • 2+ years avionics experience required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside of aviation)
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are crucial
  • Able to skillfully use the minimum tools required
  • Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing)

Nice-to-haves

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR
