About the position

The Aircraft Avionics Tech II position at AAR Corp. is an entry-level role designed for new graduates from avionics or A&P technology schools, as well as mechanics with less than five years of aircraft experience. The technician will perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision, ensuring compliance with FAA airworthiness standards. This role offers a structured training program to help acquire the FAA airframe license and is based onsite at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision.
• Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with the Airworthiness Standards.
• Use FAA approved/accepted data proficiently.
• Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements.
• Perform avionics repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings.
• Use a PC, iPad and basic computer applications and programs.
• Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self-motivation.

Requirements

• 2+ years avionics experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside of aviation).
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are crucial.
• Able to skillfully use the minimum tools required.
• Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing).

Nice-to-haves

• FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR.
