About the position

The Aircraft General Field Service Engineer Staff for the F-16 Program at Lockheed Martin is responsible for providing on-site support to the Bulgarian Air Force. This role involves training, advising, and enhancing the technical skills of personnel in the operation and maintenance of F-16 aircraft systems. The engineer will work closely with the local team to ensure self-sufficiency in handling F-16 systems and will be stationed in Bulgaria as part of an accompanied assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site/on-equipment informal unit training on installation, maintenance, and operating techniques for F-16 systems.
  • Advise on the use of special tools, handling equipment, and aerospace ground equipment related to F-16 aircraft.
  • Devise local informal training programs and identify needed training programs.
  • Emphasize safety precautions in all training provided and demonstrate best methods for modifications and retrofit kits.
  • Render technical advice to resolve maintenance problems and analyze maintenance difficulties.
  • Advise on establishing maintenance, inspection, and training programs to improve maintenance quality.
  • Liaise to disseminate information related to maintenance and operational problems to personnel.
  • Train on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders and assist in accident investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of APG systems/subsystems experience or 8 years of experience without a degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience with F-16 Systems and Subsystems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Nice-to-haves

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to train others, including Foreign Military personnel.
  • Familiarity with F-16 Avionics Modifications and Improvements.
  • Familiarity with all Blocks of F-16 (Block 70/72).
  • Experience with Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP) modified F-16 aircraft.
  • Previous Falcon 20/20 Customer Service Experience.
  • Experience working with Foreign Government representatives.
  • Experience training others, including Foreign Military personnel.
