About the position

As an Aircraft Inspector IV, you will leverage your extensive experience to conduct thorough inspections of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts, ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and operational integrity of aircraft, with responsibilities that include in-process inspections, final inspections, and authorizing the return to service of aircraft after maintenance. You will be part of a leading team in the ISR and aviation sector, contributing to innovative solutions in national security and aviation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts for airworthiness and compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and final inspections of aircraft.
  • Authorize the return to service of aircraft after maintenance and repairs.
  • Identify breaches of airworthiness standards and report findings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts.
  • Thorough understanding of product audit and inspection processes.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Ability to meet DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Current/valid passport and ability to obtain a visa for international travel.
  • Ability to pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Willingness to deploy OCONUS on a 90/90 or 90/45 rotation.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
  • Experience with first article inspections.
  • Prior experience with aircraft modifications.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
