About the position

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the inspection and maintenance processes of aircraft across multiple locations. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, manages maintenance records, and collaborates with Aviation and Powerplant Mechanics to ensure aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently. The position requires a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance and the ability to exercise discretion in management-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on aircraft to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
• Sign off on log books for all planes, certifying they are approved and returned to service.
• Manage the inspection process for approximately five locations in Iowa and Illinois.
• Oversee the work of Aviation and Powerplant Mechanics, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain all necessary records and logbooks related to aircraft maintenance.
• Plan and prepare maintenance and repair estimates, determining scope of work and personnel required.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs as needed on aircraft.
• Complete other administrative-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Active and current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics certificate with current FAA Inspection Authorization.
• Four years of related work experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Experience with Bell & Hiller helicopters is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others and travel as needed.
• Working knowledge of FAA standards.
