About the position

The Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer, Technical Publications- Level 2 position at Lockheed Martin involves the development and authoring of aircrew flight manuals for complex military aeronautics systems. The role requires a strong background in Aerospace Technical Publications, specifically in aircrew flight manuals for both commercial and military applications. The engineer will work closely with various teams to ensure the manuals meet the necessary specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in improving, evaluating, and developing specifications for flight engineering activities.
• Develop and author aircrew flight manuals for test and production aircraft.
• Interact and communicate effectively with customers, engineering, flight operations, and other organizations to define aircrew flight manual requirements.
• Possess extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation and military specification requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and source data documentation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with C-130 or similar cargo aircraft platform systems and operations.
• Experience in Aerospace logistics and/or sustainment.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings/blueprints, schematics, and acceptance test programs (ATPs).
• Proficiency in electronic authoring/editing software and knowledge of technical manual formats, requirements, and SGML.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in verification and validation of technical publications.
• Familiarity with technical authoring languages and specifications such as XML, SGML, and S1000D.
• Broad experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially MSWord, Arbortext, Adobe, and CATIA software tools.
• Ability to work on multiple projects of varied size and scope.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
