The Mx Mechanic position at Republic Airways is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of our aircraft fleet. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and other maintenance tasks on aircraft, components, and related equipment in compliance with industry standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for adhering to 14 CFR, manufacturer specifications, the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), and company policies while executing maintenance tasks. This position requires a hands-on approach, as mechanics will work both inside the hangar and at the airport terminal, troubleshooting aircraft systems and executing maintenance work orders efficiently. In this role, the Mx Mechanic will utilize various tools, equipment, and test apparatus to complete maintenance work according to accepted industry practices. It is essential to verify that all calibrated tooling is current before use and that materials and parts are serviceable. The mechanic will also ensure that each part or component is effective for the aircraft on which it will be installed, adhering to material handling and control procedures specified in the GMM and by equipment manufacturers. Safety is paramount; therefore, the mechanic must evaluate the work area and equipment to ensure safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance actions. The Mx Mechanic will maintain a clean and safe working environment throughout their shift, updating the supervisor on work progress and reviewing paperwork to ensure all work is documented accurately. Participation in shift meetings and briefings is required, along with submitting suggestions for operational procedure changes that enhance safety and cost-effective maintenance. The role also includes providing coaching and on-the-job training as directed, ensuring compliance with recurrent training requirements, and keeping necessary licenses and certifications up to date. Overall, this position is vital for maintaining the operational integrity of Republic Airways' fleet and ensuring the safety of our passengers and crew.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, modifications, and other maintenance of aircraft, components, and related equipment.
  • Comply with 14 CFR, manufacturer specifications, the GMM, and company policies during maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot all aircraft systems and execute maintenance work orders.
  • Use tools, equipment, and test apparatus necessary to complete work according to industry practices.
  • Verify that all calibrated tooling is current before use and that materials and parts are serviceable.
  • Initiate material requests and adhere to material handling and control procedures specified in the GMM.
  • Evaluate the work area and equipment to ensure safety is not compromised before performing maintenance actions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment throughout the work shift.
  • Update the supervisor on progress of work performed and review paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with completion of shift turnover reports and perform maintenance computer system transactions as required.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training as directed and participate in shift meetings and briefings.
  • Submit suggestions in writing for changes in operational procedures to enhance safety and cost-effective maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups.
  • Possess decision-making skills and the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Able to pass an FAA required 10-year work history review and pass criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Must possess the required tools and be able to work both in a team setting and individually.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as an A&P mechanic or airline experience.
