The Aircraft Mechanic position is essential to maintaining the airworthiness of our fleet, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with established procedures and regulations. The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine, non-routine, and preventative maintenance on company aircraft, adhering to OAI manuals, manufacturers' manuals, and FAR regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, as mechanics will sign off on work accomplished, troubleshoot deferred maintenance items, and ensure proper documentation of all maintenance tasks. The position also involves coordinating with Lead Mechanics and Maintenance Control to meet incoming aircraft, reviewing logbooks for discrepancies, and planning corrective actions as needed. In addition to technical skills, the role demands a commitment to safety and compliance with company policies. Mechanics will be expected to maintain a clean work area, represent the Maintenance Department professionally, and attend training courses as assigned. The position may require working 10-12 hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves some travel. Candidates must possess a valid A&P license and have a minimum of three years of line maintenance experience, preferably on B767/777 aircraft. Physical demands include the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and operate small tools and ground equipment. Overall, this position is vital to the operational success of Omni Air International, ensuring that our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, non-routine, and preventative maintenance in accordance with OAI manuals, manufacturers' manuals, FAR's, and other established procedures.
  • Sign for work accomplished including troubleshooting deferred maintenance items and ensure proper recording of all maintenance tasks on company documents.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by Lead Mechanics, Maintenance Control, or higher management.
  • Properly tag all repairable components including reason for removal.
  • Coordinate all troubleshooting work requests and part requirements with Lead Mechanic(s) or Maintenance Control.
  • Review logbook for discrepancies and plan any corrective action needed for incoming aircraft.
  • Keep the work area clean, including airport ramps, and maintain or repair company property as required.
  • Represent the Maintenance Department professionally when onboard company aircraft.
  • Attend all training courses as assigned by any supervisor.
  • Comply with all company rules, regulations, and procedures set forth in company manuals and policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid A&P License
  • Minimum of 3 years line maintenance experience on a B767/777 preferred
  • Valid state issued drivers' license with clear MVR with no major moving violations within the past 3 years
  • Ability to pass a 10 year background/criminal/motor vehicle records check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Careful workmanship and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions due to the degree of responsibility
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manual instructions to solve complex mechanical problems
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and discuss equipment malfunction.

Nice-to-haves
