About the position

The Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) position at Amentum involves supporting U.S. Navy Aviation maintenance operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining aircraft systems, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring aircraft safety and functionality. Technicians will work with various tools and equipment to perform inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components, while adhering to safety and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade technicians.
• Assist in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and functional components using hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Perform progressive, phase, periodic, and other inspections on aircraft.
• Inspect engines for malfunctions and diagnose issues using testing equipment.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors and fuel pumps.
• Remove engines from aircraft, inspect parts for defects, and reassemble engines after repairs.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.

Requirements

• Must have completed Navy Aviation Electronics Technician AT 'A' School.
• 3 years of F/A-18 A-G O-level aircraft system maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required for maintenance tasks.
• Valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver's License required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications and safety rules.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties and meet medical examination requirements.
• Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain it.

Nice-to-haves

• Ramp Stamp (restricted/unrestricted) certification.
• Experience with A/S32A-45 tow tractor and AM32A-108 or A/M24M-6 power cart.
• Release and Control TM / TL experience.
