About the position

The position is responsible for managing airfield operations at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and overseeing the Airfield Officer team. The role involves leadership, employee engagement, and development, as well as monitoring construction and maintenance projects affecting airfield activities. The individual will serve as a liaison with airlines and the FAA, manage wildlife programs, and ensure safe and efficient operations in the Air Operations Area (AOA).

Responsibilities

  • Establish processes and procedures governing the operation of the Air Operations Area (AOA) and Aircraft Movement Area.
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures pertaining to activities on the AOA within FAA guidelines.
  • Liaise with Bridge Managers in the Integrated Operations Center to provide situational awareness for irregular operations.
  • Represent the Operations Department at meetings with other departments, contractors, tenant airlines, and governmental agencies.
  • Direct the inspection of construction and maintenance projects on the AOA.
  • Provide interpretations of FAA and Airport Board rules and regulations to various stakeholders.
  • Oversee compliance of the Part 139 Airport wildlife management program to minimize wildlife impact.
  • Manage winter weather and AOA-related emergencies to ensure safe aircraft operations.
  • Conduct analysis and draft position papers on proposed regulatory changes impacting airport operations.
  • Ensure training programs for airport personnel related to AOA activities are completed.
  • Direct staffing requirements to achieve sectional responsibilities.
  • Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and conduct VIP tours.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Assistant Vice President, Operations.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in airfield operations at a FAR Part 139 certificated large hub airport, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security access clearance within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a FBI Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance.
