About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the AFRC Airfield Infrastructure and Career field program manager for AF wide (mission-oriented program of varying size frequently requiring modification of a wide range of variables).

Responsibilities

  • Program Manager and Subject Matter Expert Air Force Wide Airfield Infrastructure and Career field programs.
  • Conducts and/or leads studies and/or initiatives to improve programs and/or influence policy changes for assigned functional area that typically involve long-range, highly complex, and often sensitive topics.
  • Provides advisory services to managers, supervisors, and employees on airfield infrastructure and career field management programs.
  • Analyzes and evaluates a wide range of complex AF wide functional requirements, objectives, operating methods, and new and proposed regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities, less than 25% of the time to one subordinate employee.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • A security clearance must be obtained and maintained.
  • Fifteen years of airfield infrastructure and career field management experience are desirable.
  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
  • This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of federal laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, directives, principles, and practices governing to administer the Air Force wide airfield, infrastructure, and career field management programs.
  • Knowledge at an expert level of analytical and evaluative methods, including a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Skill in justifying, defending, and recommending decisions on an end-to-end program within a matrix structured organization.
  • Skill in communicating, both orally and in writing, to provide seasoned consulting to operating managers and other specialists.
