About the position

The position is responsible for administering and supervising the Airfield Driver's Training program at Creech AFB and other specified locations. The individual will provide training to all personnel, including TDY personnel, site survey teams, and contractors, ensuring they are prepared for airfield operations. The role involves collaboration with squadron commanders and section chiefs, conducting annual recertification, and maintaining training records and compliance with airfield driving policies.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the airfield driver's training program under the Wing Airfield Driving Program Manager (ADPM).
  • Collaborate with Base Operations on airfield driving matters.
  • Ensure personnel complete airfield driver's training and are prepared for testing and certification.
  • Document and track personnel requiring access to Controlled Movement Areas (CMA) and restricted airfield driving.
  • Conduct practical airfield familiarization training and driving tests for personnel.
  • Develop and maintain course curriculum and provide classroom instruction.
  • Maintain accurate airfield driving records and ensure proper annotation of AF IMT 483 forms.
  • Ensure personnel have valid driver's licenses for operating vehicles on the airfield.
  • Conduct color vision testing for personnel who will drive on the facility.
  • Document annual refresher training and maintain training completion records.
  • Maintain an Airfield Driving Program Continuity Binder for assigned units.
  • Attend Wing ADPM meetings and briefings regarding airfield driving.
  • Conduct self-inspections of the Airfield Driving Program and report results to the Wing ADPM.
  • Disseminate airfield driving information to base drivers.
  • Conduct random spot checks for compliance with guidelines and correct discrepancies.
  • Notify Unit Commander and Wing ADPM in writing after suspending driving privileges of individuals.
  • Participate in the Runway Incursion Prevention Working Group.
  • Validate the number of personnel authorized to drive on the airfield annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/technical training and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in airport driving procedures or completion of an accredited Military or FAA Airfield Management school.
  • 6 years of experience in Airfield Management, with at least 2 years as Wing or Unit Airfield Driving Program Manager or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of airport driving policies and procedures.
  • Ability to train personnel in both classroom and practical settings, including night driving.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must qualify for and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
