About the position

The Airframe and Powerplant Lead (Part 121) is responsible for supervising and directing aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. This role involves overseeing Aircraft Mechanics, performing major and minor repairs, and coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Aircraft Mechanics to ensure all daily preflight and general servicing is accomplished.
  • Responsible for turnover log including review of log, prioritizing tasks, and log completion.
  • Ensure maintenance and inspections comply with FARs and company manuals.
  • Arrange for RII authorized personnel as needed and provide OJT to aircraft mechanics and helpers.
  • Coordinate with GSE Department for needed support and with other departments for resources.
  • Coordinate with Training Manager for training needs.
  • Perform major and minor repairs or alterations to company aircraft including engine systems, flight controls, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, landing gear systems, and structural components.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Disassemble and inspect parts and engines for wear, warping, or other defects.
  • Perform heavy checks, service checks, line maintenance pre-flights, and troubleshooting.
  • Remove and install aircraft engines and propellers.
  • Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components following drawings and technical publications.
  • Execute towing, taxiing, and engine run-up of aircraft.
  • Service and maintain aircraft systems and test engine and system operations.
  • Heat, deice, and refuel aircraft as required.
  • Launch and recover company aircraft and operate ground support equipment.
  • Document aircraft maintenance repairs and alterations IAW FARs using appropriate company forms.
  • Sign out serviceable aircraft parts and tag repairable parts removed from aircraft engines or components.
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications.

Requirements

  • Valid Drivers license
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant License
  • Ability to understand and retain information provided verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble intricate assemblies.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces, floors, ladders, and work stands for extended periods.
