About the position

The Airport ATS Technician I/II (Trams) position at the Clark County Department of Aviation involves performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the Airport Transit Systems (Trams). This role requires a combination of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills to ensure the efficient operation of the automated transit systems at Harry Reid International Airport. The position offers a pathway for career advancement from Technician I to Technician II upon successful completion of training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic work in the operation, installation, and maintenance of the airport's automated transit systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex ATS system and subsystem components to identify problems or failures and implement repairs.
  • Conduct pre-defined inspections on the ATS system and subsystems to ensure compliance with Clark County Issued Ride Certification.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts and check system operation when new or repaired units are installed.
  • Maintain records of repairs, parts used, calibration data, and maintenance performed.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on tires, brakes, motors, switches, relays, air compressors, and related system components.
  • Assist service contract personnel in the maintenance of aftermarket programs.
  • Instruct and train maintenance and service personnel in equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Utilize an automated maintenance management system (Maximo) to record and document work performed.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from high school and six (6) years of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic experience for Technician I.
  • Two (2) years of maintenance and repair experience in automated transit systems for Technician II.
  • Must possess a valid Class C Nevada driver's license at the time of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CCTV and RF signaling systems.
  • Basic understanding of PLC and network systems, particularly CISCO switches.
