About the position

As an Airport Cabin Agent at RDU, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of aircraft interiors for passenger boarding and departure. This position requires a keen attention to detail as you will be responsible for cleaning and servicing various areas of the aircraft, including the cabin, cockpit, galleys, and lavatories. Your duties will involve preparing the cabin by cleaning seats, seat pockets, floors, and ensuring that all areas are free of dirt, debris, and marks. You will also be tasked with checking, handling, assembling, removing, and installing passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies according to specific list specifications. This meticulous cleaning process is essential to maintain the high standards expected in the airline industry. In addition to cleaning responsibilities, you will assist Ramp agents once cabin cleaning is complete and perform FOD (Foreign Object Debris) walks in the ramp area between flights. You will also be responsible for marshaling aircraft during arrivals and departures, ensuring that necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights. A critical part of your role will involve reading and interpreting aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage routing tags. This position may also require you to perform other related duties as assigned, within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and servicing of aircraft interiors, including cabin, cockpit, galleys, and lavatories.
  • Preparing the cabin for customer boarding and departure, including cleaning of seats, seat pockets, floors, galleys, and lavatories.
  • Checking, handling, assembling, removing, and installing passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies according to list specifications.
  • Ensuring all areas are completely free of dirt, debris, marks, fingerprints, etc.
  • Assisting Ramp agents when cabin cleaning is complete.
  • Performing FOD walks in the ramp area between flights.
  • Marshaling aircraft during arrival and departures.
  • Ensuring necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights.
  • Reading and interpreting aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage routing tags.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities.

Requirements

  • Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces.
  • Eligible to receive appropriate security clearances after satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Some shifts may require extended hours to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to work in cramped or high places.
  • Must be able to carry heavy items up and down jet way stairs.
