About the position

The Airport Civil Engineer position at AtkinsRéalis is an entry-level role within the Aviation Team, focused on planning and designing airside and landside airport projects in Florida and across the United States. The role involves collaboration with other engineers and offers opportunities for professional development and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadway, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure.
• Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, including data collection and analysis, routine calculations, and evaluating feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Researches project site conditions and regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications, including gathering information, writing outlines, and preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations under supervision.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Contributes to design assignments by conveying design intent to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience in a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with airside and landside aviation projects is desired.
• Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing and communication skills.
• PC and CAD skills required, with Autocad Civil 3D experience desired.
• EIT preferred.
