About the position

Parsons is seeking a Construction Manager with airport experience to oversee and manage construction contracts for transportation and infrastructure projects in South Florida. This role involves coordinating contractor efforts, ensuring optimal airport operations, and delivering projects that positively impact the community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction contracts and coordinate contractor efforts during construction, closeout, and occupancy.
  • Maintain optimal airport operations while minimizing unplanned utility service or logistical impacts.
  • Review and interpret Contract Documents, including architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and comment on Contractor deliverables, submittals, and change requests.
  • Review changes to determine merit and assess reasonable costs.
  • Coordinate construction efforts with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and utility providers.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress and forecast reports.
  • Influence construction progress in accordance with approved schedules.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.
  • 5-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision under pressure.
  • Ability to review and manage construction contracts.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage risks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and CMR contracts.
  • Knowledge of and experience in reviewing a contractor's Safety Plan and QC Plan.
  • Experience in reviewing and overseeing a Document Control Plan and developing/utilizing a Project Procedures Manual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience utilizing a construction industry Project Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Prior airport Capital Improvement Program (CIP) experience is desired but not required.
  • Prior working experience in similar roles.
  • Positive and 'can-do' attitude with a desire to make a positive impact.
