About the position

The Airport Electrical Engineer at AtkinsRéalis will provide expertise in aviation technical aspects, focusing on the design and construction of airport-related electrical engineering projects. This role involves applying advanced engineering concepts to solve unconventional problems, conducting investigations, and preparing engineering drawings for various airport infrastructure projects. The position emphasizes collaboration, ethical standards, and the importance of diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for airport electrical engineering projects.
  • Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks.
  • Collect and analyze data using established procedures and perform routine calculations.
  • Research project site conditions and regulatory agency specifications.
  • Prepare materials for reports and permit applications under the supervision of experienced professionals.
  • Perform field observations of construction as appropriate.
  • Convey design intent clearly through engineering drawings and specifications.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or other engineering degrees.
  • 3-8 years of experience, with a focus on airfield experience post-bachelor's degree.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred; Professional Engineers are also eligible.
  • Experience with airside and landside aviation projects.
  • Strong understanding of FAA Advisory Circulars and airport design standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong technical writing abilities.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in unconventional engineering problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
