About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Airport Electrical or Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Electrical Team in Omaha, NE. This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates or those with minimal experience in the field. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for various airport-related electrical engineering projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure. The role involves conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, which may include data collection and analysis, routine calculations, and evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions. In this position, you will be responsible for researching project site conditions and regulatory agency specifications, preparing materials for reports and permit applications, and performing field observations of construction as necessary. You will contribute to design assignments by clearly conveying design intent through engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, while upholding engineering ethics and standards of conduct. Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related electrical engineering projects.
  • Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks.
  • Research project site conditions and regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information and preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations under supervision.
  • Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Contributes to design assignments by conveying the design intent to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of internship for engineering consulting in a technical field.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Software.
  • Capable of developing communications and technical writing skills.
  • Capable of understanding NEC (training provided).
  • EIT Preferred or capable of obtaining PE in later career path.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations related to airport projects.
