About the position

The Airport General Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and operational aspects of the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport's parking management. This role emphasizes a people-first approach, focusing on employee development and client satisfaction while ensuring efficient operations 24/7. The General Manager will lead a team, manage budgets, develop client relationships, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, all while promoting a culture of servant leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and develop a team of employees to achieve annual and periodic goals.
  • Identify high potential employees to support organizational growth.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and conduct monthly profit/loss reviews.
  • Develop client relationships and ensure business retention.
  • Organize and narrate parking management skills for employees and supervisors.
  • Implement and deliver all contractual requirements between LAZ Parking and clients.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial and operational reports.
  • Maximize revenue, manage expenses, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage, plan, schedule, train, and direct employees and supervisors' activities.
  • Serve as a liaison to parking patrons and stakeholder groups.
  • Implement and complete various operational projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in labor contract management as applicable.
  • Review and edit proposed agreements related to parking and maintenance.
  • Communicate with local police and emergency management regarding operations.
  • Oversee event operations within LAZ Parking.
  • Monitor and analyze market rate structures.
  • Identify future hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Maintain audit principles and methodologies.
  • Support the creation and monitoring of the marketing budget.
  • Ensure safety SOPs are followed and prioritized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years in a management role, with parking experience required; airport/commercial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general Microsoft Office applications.
  • Parking management experience is required.
  • Excellent financial, budgeting, and reforecasting skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • E-commerce experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Ability to seek improvement and create an environment of idea sharing and creative problem solving.
