The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking motivated and service-oriented individuals for the position of Airport Landside Operations Specialist. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for all airport visitors. As an Airport Landside Operations Specialist, you will be on the front lines, providing essential services such as traffic control, customer assistance, and parking operations. Your presence will enhance security and guide travelers through their airport journey, whether patrolling on foot, bike, or vehicle. You will assist visitors by offering information, directions, and support, as well as managing parking fees with a parking revenue control system. Additionally, you will enforce traffic and parking regulations and monitor for unusual activity. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service, as you will be responding to security calls, emergency situations, and automobile accidents on airport property. You will assess situations, summon help, and control the scene until the arrival of the proper authority. Your contributions will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers, and you may also perform routine maintenance and landscape duties. You will be expected to provide work instruction to less experienced staff and may drive an airport shuttle bus, assist with VIP arrivals or departures, and perform various similar services. In terms of transportation operations, you will direct, monitor, and maintain vehicular traffic control at the airport, explaining to visitors the reasons for impeded flow and issuing notices of civil infraction under Nevada State statutes as required. You will assist airport users, ensuring their safety and providing special assistance to disabled patrons. Your role will also involve patrolling parking facilities, roadway systems, and other areas for security, accident prevention, and parking surveillance. You will attempt to resolve difficult visitor situations and call for appropriate assistance in criminal situations. Additionally, you will maintain logs and records related to your work and report unusual incidents as specified.
