About the position

The Shuttle Driver position at LAZ Parking is a vital role that ensures the safe and efficient transportation of passengers and employees to and from the Pensacola Airport terminal and employee parking areas. This position requires a commitment to safety and customer service, as drivers will interact with passengers, assist with luggage, and provide information about the local area. The role is designed for individuals who can work both independently and as part of a team, following the directions of supervisors while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. The position involves working afternoon and overnight shifts, and candidates must be prepared to undergo a DOT drug test and physical examination as part of the hiring process. In this role, drivers will be responsible for performing pre- and post-inspection activities to ensure that the shuttle is in proper operating condition. They will also be tasked with daily cleaning and maintenance of the shuttle, ensuring it remains neat and orderly, which includes adhering to uniform standards. Communication is key, as drivers will use a two-way radio to interact with the dispatch office and supervisors, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed and that the shuttle bus is secure at all times. The Shuttle Driver position is not just about driving; it is about providing a positive experience for passengers and ensuring their safety and comfort during their travels.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every passenger and offer to lift and carry baggage onto the shuttle or luggage trailer for storage.
  • Assist passengers with general information about the local area.
  • Work with and without supervision and follow the direction of supervisors when requests are made.
  • Provide daily transportation for passengers to and from destinations.
  • Perform pre- and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions.
  • Assist passengers when boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Prepare and submit accident/incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily/routine cleaning and shuttle maintenance activities; maintain neat and orderly appearance to include assigned uniforms.
  • Comply with State driving regulations, city and Airport safety rules and procedures.
  • Use two-way radio to interact and communicate professionally with dispatch office and/or supervisor.
  • Keep the shuttle bus secure and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform other related/additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work afternoon and overnight shifts.
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug test and physical examination.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service and transportation preferred.

  • Knowledge of local area and attractions.
  • Previous experience as a shuttle driver or in a similar role.
