The Aisles Online Pickup Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring that online orders are efficiently and accurately transported and loaded for our online shoppers. This position involves a variety of tasks, including organizing, gathering, and loading online orders, all while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. The Aisles Online Pickup Clerk is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This includes greeting customers with a smile, assisting them in locating products, and ensuring that their shopping experience is as pleasant as possible. The clerk will also handle customer inquiries via telephone and email, ensuring that all interactions are met with care and concern. Once orders are gathered, the clerk must ensure that products are stored at the proper temperature and retrieved promptly for customer pickup. This role requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting and loading groceries into customer vehicles, adhering to company policies, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout the workday. In addition to primary responsibilities, the clerk will also select, scan, and bag items from various temperature zones, process customer orders through the point of sale (POS) system, and perform other job-related duties as required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to the Hy-Vee mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
  • Makes note of and passes along customer suggestions or requests to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Answers telephone and emails promptly, providing friendly and helpful service to customers.
  • Gathers orders and places them in storage at the proper temperature, retrieving them promptly before customer arrival.
  • Ensures products maintain proper temperature throughout the entire process.
  • Carts and places orders in the holding area for pick-up.
  • Lifts, carries, and loads groceries into customer vehicles.
  • Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
  • Selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.
  • Tenders customer orders through POS and charges the customer's credit card.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop, and execute solutions.
  • Ability to substitute products for customers upon request and unavailability.
  • Well organized, able to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily workload with limited supervision.
