About the position

Join Terran Orbital, a leader in the small satellite industry, as an AIT Technician - Vehicle Integration. This role is pivotal in the manufacturing of spacecraft sub-assemblies, where you will be responsible for following detailed procedures to assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality control and ASO-9100 standards, with a keen eye for detail and excellent origination skills. This position operates on a weekend shift from Thursday to Monday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, allowing for a focused work environment dedicated to innovation and excellence in satellite technology. As an AIT Technician, you will perform various tasks including soldering, operating hand tools, and conducting miscellaneous lab duties such as kitting and inventory management. Effective communication with the support engineering team is essential, as you will be updating documentation and hardware statuses through online services. Additionally, you will assist in spacecraft flight integration activities and must adhere to safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to meeting attendance policies. The position demands a meticulous approach to documentation and a familiarity with cleanroom standards and ESD precautions. You will be expected to sit for most of the working day, with some physical demands including the ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Responsibilities

  • Follow detailed procedures to assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules.
  • Perform soldering tasks and utilize soldering tools and practices.
  • Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, tweezers, and scissors.
  • Perform miscellaneous lab duties, including kitting, inventory, and organization tasks.
  • Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.
  • Update documentation and hardware statuses through online services.
  • Assist in spacecraft flight integration activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, aviation, or a similar industry.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow detailed work instructions for testing flight modules.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office products, and internet browser applications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and documentation.

Nice-to-haves
