About the position

NGP VAN is seeking a remote US-based Lead QA Engineer to join the ActionKit team, which is dedicated to empowering progressive organizations and campaigns through innovative technology. As the Lead QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality by rigorously testing new features and functionalities of ActionKit, a platform utilized by nearly 150 progressive groups and nonprofits. Your responsibilities will include evaluating whether new features meet their specifications, assessing the user interface for intuitiveness and responsiveness, and identifying potential issues that may arise from corner cases or user interactions. In this position, you will not only focus on testing but also have the opportunity to contribute to the development process by automating QA tasks, enhancing documentation, or addressing bugs directly. The team operates in a flexible and informal environment, allowing you to carve out your niche and make meaningful contributions to the product. You will collaborate closely with engineers throughout the QA process, providing valuable feedback that helps refine the tools our clients rely on to advocate for social change. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with ActionKit or similar tools, a knack for problem-solving, and the ability to learn complex systems through self-directed research. Your background may include roles such as technical writer, developer advocate, software developer, or product manager, and you should be comfortable working with SQL, Python, Django, and REST APIs.
