About the position

Kelly Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for Albuquerque Public Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is essential for ensuring that students continue to learn and grow in the absence of their regular teachers. Substitute teachers will have the opportunity to mentor students and positively impact their education while enjoying flexible work schedules and various professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
• Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
• Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.

Requirements

• 60 college credits
• New Mexico Teaching License or New Mexico Substitute License (or willing to obtain)
• Willing to work at least 3 days a week
• Calming, compassionate nature
• Ability to relate and adapt to various behaviors, learning styles, and/or disabilities
• Comfortable with technology (Google, Zoom, etc.)
