About the position

The Program Manager 4 at ALDW is responsible for overseeing mission assurance activities critical to the Laboratory's performance against contractual deliverables. This role involves leading various programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and representing the directorate in institutional initiatives. The position requires a strong focus on performance improvement, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program compliance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mission assurance programs, ensuring alignment with ALDW goals and objectives.
  • Design, deploy, and operate systems and supporting tools for performance improvement, commitment management, and risk characterization.
  • Develop and implement program plans, schedules, and budgets in support of mission assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and experimental teams to ensure program success.
  • Manage risk identification, tracking, and mitigation across the directorate.
  • Track issues management activities across the directorate and activities assigned at the ALD level.
  • Manage ALDW management review board (MRB) activities and represent at the institutional MRB.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program compliance, performance, and quality.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on program status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion, often with competing deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in developing, directing, and monitoring processes and tools for mission assurance.
  • Experience in monitoring technological, legal, and operational changes affecting program activities.
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating collaboration to solve complex performance challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in leading and engaging people, building trust, and resolving conflicts.
  • Advanced knowledge of program development and management principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Weapons development process and qualification activities.
  • Experience developing relationships with DOE/NNSA stakeholders and Program Sponsors.
  • Advanced knowledge of LANL organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
