About the position
The Algorithm Software Engineer at I2X Technologies plays a crucial role in developing Java-based mathematical algorithms for military applications, particularly within the missile defense domain. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure mission success and requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The engineer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and agile planning.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java-based mathematical algorithms in support of military systems.
- Generate software design artifacts and implement software changes.
- Support design and code reviews, as well as software testing and issue resolution.
- Participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment, and Warfighter Support.
Requirements
- Technical Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, or significant professional experience with 3+ years in the field.
- Full Life-Cycle Development experience.
- Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in Java application development.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
- Knowledge of software implementation of mathematical algorithms.
- Familiarity with integrated software development toolsets such as Git/Gitlab, Eclipse, Maven, and SonarQube.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in developing complex mathematical algorithms for military applications.
- Experience in a structured, process-based integrated team environment.
- Knowledge of DEVSECOPS frameworks for Java-based applications.
- Experience with automated unit tests and verification of requirements.
- Familiarity with system engineering artifacts such as ICDs, use cases, and sequence diagrams.
- Security+ certification.
