About the position
Apogee Research is seeking engineers to design and implement algorithms for distributed systems that operate resiliently in contested environments. The role focuses on developing algorithms for networking, distributed data fusion, resource management, and electronic warfare, particularly in Command and Control (C2) applications. This full-time, on-site position is based in Arlington, VA, and requires candidates to have or be eligible for a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms for distributed sensor and C2 networks in dynamic environments.
- Retask jamming or sensing platforms for mission coverage.
- Implement feedback-driven changes in compression or error correction protocols.
- Leverage data from distributed sensor feeds for fusion or tracking.
- Analyze and experiment with the stability of nonlinear systems.
- Collaborate with teams to implement algorithms in hardware and demonstrate functionality in tests.
- Support the development of software toolchains for feedback control applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in controls or algorithmic development.
- Experience in research environments with a focus on operational relevance.
- Software implementation experience in C/C++, MATLAB, or Java.
- Strong understanding of probability and statistics.
- Ability to remain organized and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
