About the position

The Business Development & Operations Specialist at AliExpress is responsible for driving growth in the industrial supplies and tools category by acquiring and incubating merchants. This role involves managing relationships with industry partners, developing category-specific strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to overcome business challenges. The specialist will also focus on optimizing product selection and pricing to enhance customer experience and maximize gross merchandise volume (GMV).

Responsibilities

• Acquire and incubate merchants to support category growth.
• Own industry category relationship(s) as a Category Business Partner, driving supply-side acquisition and sales targets.
• Develop a category-specific assortment plan optimizing pricing, selection, and brand diversity.
• Stay updated with industry and competitor movements.
• Discover innovative collaborative models for merchants' development plans.
• Solve key challenges in business growth through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Offer strategic content, merchandising, and logistical solutions to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce platform operation or two-sided marketplace operation, preferably in Industrial supplies and tools.
• Experience in Product Management, Strategy and Planning, or Management Consulting in Retail or e-commerce.
• Proven track record in defining strategies and implementing operation plans.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Data-driven approach to planning and decision-making, with experience in data analytics and modeling.
• Possess a growth mindset and willingness to provide and receive feedback.
