About the position

The Program Manager I at Franklin Energy / AM Conservation is responsible for managing energy efficiency programs with support from senior leadership. This hands-on role involves overseeing all aspects of program management, including budget oversight, team development, and client relationships, while focusing on achieving energy efficiency goals and program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in talent management processes, including interviewing and performance evaluations.
  • Provide client communications and reporting.
  • Oversee program operations to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Seek Senior Leadership support for developing and expanding client relationships.
  • Support partner and client contract management processes.
  • Establish solid and trusted relationships with client program teams.
  • Lead and support company-wide safety efforts.
  • Orchestrate partnership and work between centralized functions and program staff.
  • Recognize and address issues within programs as they arise.
  • Ensure successful delivery of program goals as indicated in the Statement of Work.
  • Develop and manage production plans for programs.
  • Monitor and manage program budgets to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting energy goals.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and activity reports as required.
  • Manage one to two individually run utility programs.
  • Report on program performance and financial metrics.
  • Support Business Development with information on program re-bids, RFPs, and client expansions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent required.
  • 2 or more years of management experience or 1 or more years managing energy efficiency programs.
  • Background in engineering, technology, or science preferred.
  • Experience in lighting, HVAC, and other technologies preferred.
  • Technical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations preferred.
  • Proven leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and delegate work assignments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with customers and clients.
  • Sales or business development background is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
