About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the functionality of tools and equipment within the hotel. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing various systems, maintaining inventory, and adhering to safety protocols while providing excellent service to guests.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and attend to guest repair requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
• Display knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb replacement.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment and plumbing.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers.
• Follow all company and safety policies and procedures, reporting any issues as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance and surface preparation.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• Driver's License is required.
