Allergy Injection Nurse (RN)

About the position

The Allergy Injection Nurse (RN) at Allergy and Immunology Associates of New England is responsible for administering allergy injections and Botox treatments in a busy medical practice. The role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care. The nurse will work closely with providers and aesthetic staff to ensure safe and effective treatment for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Identify and confirm patient's next dose based on their treatment plan, current symptoms, medication changes, and time between injections.
• Administer accurate doses while following clean/sterile procedures per USP Chapter 797 guidelines.
• Administer Botox injections to approximately 1-6 clients per week.
• Perform and document accurate vital signs.
• Differentiate between and administer subcutaneous biologic, immunotherapy (allergy), and intramuscular injections.
• Recognize and react appropriately to patient reactions, including anaphylaxis management.
• Oversee inventory of patient allergen vials and reorder in a timely manner.
• Respond to phone calls and concerns from patients and other medical offices.
• Regularly interact with physicians and other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid and unrestricted Massachusetts RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of allergy procedures preferred.
• Ability to perform Botox injections (training provided).
• Reliable transportation for minimal travel to other locations.
• Proven communication skills and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
• Ability to actively listen and interpret patient needs.
• Knowledge of HIPAA.

Nice-to-haves
