About the position

The Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health (AIM) Program Coordinator position at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the AIM program, which focuses on addressing maternal mortality and morbidity. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, monitoring trends, managing contracts, and ensuring effective communication and coordination of maternal health initiatives across the state.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, lead, and facilitate the Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health (AIM) program.
  • Assist the KMMRC & KPQC Program Administrator with the facilitation of the Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC).
  • Monitor patterns and trends related to maternal and pregnancy-associated mortality and morbidity.
  • Issue action alerts or bulletins in partnership with organizations.
  • Analyze findings and recommendations to determine interventions and actions to improve maternal health.
  • Manage and monitor contracts tied to the AIM grant and other services/supports.
  • Identify potential funding sources to sustain efforts and address emerging needs.
  • Coordinate programs and services with internal and external partners to minimize redundancies.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with agency, Bureau, and community partners.
  • Represent the agency at health-related meetings and events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, nursing, human services, psychology, sociology, or related field (preferred).
  • Two years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing work in community collaborative or related fields.
  • Valid Driver's License.
