About the position

The Business Product Owner will utilize strong transaction data mapping analysis skills and business systems knowledge to develop and support integration services, ensuring clients' seamless use of State Street's product offerings. This role is central to State Street's Front-to-Back Business Strategy team, which employs cross-functional teams to execute vital client integration and collaboration responsibilities. The individual in this position must possess the proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams while performing complex business data analysis. Specific duties include supporting individual client integration efforts by owning and analyzing inbound and outbound data requirements, documenting and presenting data mappings to and from source systems involved in the solution, and supporting testing activities and immediate post-production transitions with the support of test plan development and test scripts. The Business Product Owner will also liaise with stakeholders to establish and document implementation requirements, develop use cases to document user requirements and functional specifications, and analyze requirements on an ongoing basis to ensure project expectations are aligned. Additionally, the role involves documenting and analyzing any derivation, workflow, and/or enrichment required for the project/solution, compiling, interpreting, and analyzing information related to complex and intricate business/system processing, and liaising between business users and various information technology development and testing teams. The position requires applying in-depth knowledge of the financial service industry and SQL/database query skills in the performance of assigned job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Support individual client integration efforts by owning and analyzing inbound and outbound data requirements.

  • Compile, interpret, and analyze information related to complex and intricate business/system processing.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the financial service industry and SQL/database query skills in the performance of assigned job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Analytics, or a related field or its equivalent; plus 5 years of experience in Business Analysis or related experience.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance, Analytics, or a related field or its equivalent; plus 3 years of experience in Business Analysis or related experience.
  • Strong experience with technologies that relate to product implementation and client interaction.
  • Knowledge of existing State Street organizational constructs and teams and an understanding of middle and back office systems, functions and services supported at State Street.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst on medium to large scale projects.
  • Expertise in transaction messaging protocols and format, XML, FIX, SWIFT, etc.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of SDLC & Agile Methodology and tools (i.e. JIRA, Kibana dashboard).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
